SCOTT TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE OFFICE

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, INDIANA

Scott Township is one of eight townships in Vanderburgh County, Indiana.

 

Scott Township was organized in 1821 as the fourth township, and named for Samuel Scott, an early settler.

 

As of the 2010 census, its population was 8,528 and it contained 3,343 housing units. In recent years, Scott Township has become one of the fastest-growing townships in the county.

Scott Township Park is located at 2112 Schlensker Road and is approximately 115 acres. The park consists of a playground, shelter house available for rent, lake, and several walking trails. While the park is open year round, the road is closed during winter hours.

Scott Township Ball Park is located at the corner of Hwy 41 and Radio Ave. The park consists of three fields plus a dedicated, grass tee ball field. It hosts both baseball and softball teams with players ranging in ages from 3 to 18 years old. The Clubhouse is available for rent.

Located inside the Scott Township Ball Park, our pickleball courts are open to the public with lights available for after dark enjoyment. Our mission is to create an experience where beginners and veteran players are treated equally and people are more important than the game.

Scott Township has several areas for residents and visitors alike to enjoy outdoor activities.

FIRE AND EMS
We are the only fire department in the Tri-State area to provide advanced life support ambulance services to our residents. Our department was established in 1956, and as our community has grown, so have we. The Vanderburgh County Fire Department currently operates a total of three fire stations that span our district from Darmstadt to Daylight, with our headquarters located on Baseline Rd.

Vanderburgh County Fire Department provides fire protection, medical services, public education, inspections, and aid in other types of emergencies for persons and property in the area of the Scott Township Fire Territory, which includes Scott Township, the Town of Darmstadt, and Armstrong Township. In addition, we also provide assistance to other agencies during times of need through our mutual aid agreements. Effective July 1, 2025, the Fire Territory will begin response to German Township.
